At some point I'll write a proper colophon. For now, it is perhaps enough to say that this is a web log whose primary purpose is to give a computer geek's wife another reason to say "Don't you spend enough time in front of a computer at work?"

I chose Blosxom because I wanted to brush up on my Perl, and because it and most of its plugins were licensed under a truly free license rather than the ugly GPL. I've tweaked most of the plugins I've used at least a little bit, and I've written a mostly functional metaWeblogAPI script that lets me use w.bloggar to post entries.

Most basic text styles try to use Lucida Casual, Verdana, then Bitstream Vera Sans, Helvetica, Arial, or your default Sans-serif font. Some headlines and story titles use Trebuchet MS.

Lucida Casual can be freely downloaded from http://www.goodfonts.org. Trebuchet MS and Verdana are be freely available from Microsoft Typography (Core fonts for the Web). Bitstream Vera Sans in freely available from Gnome.
